Q's on Ego Frames - Solenoid with no pneus

Has anyone tryed installing a Spyder solenoid into an Ego frame to assemble an electro-mag instead of an electro-pneumag? If I'm not wrong, the newer Spyder noids can go up to 30 cycles per second so matching one of those noids and an Ego frame with board could make a super fast electro mag without the need of a LPR, special air-powered noids or MPA-3. I was thinking about getting one of the new ETEK Star Frames just released to do that:

What do you guys think? Is it possible?

I don't think a board meant for a noid valve will be strong enough fro sear tripping.

The board would need a capacitor in order to cycle the noid (pancake or clapper) your talking about.

The duty cycle of the "Spyder Noids" is alot. So you need something to hold that charge. If you want an idea just for reference,.. look at a Spyder board or an ION board. They both have large Caps on them.

If you can get beyond that hurdle,... there is the next one: Amount of clearance from top of frame to top board to get the noid in.
With this you really only need to worry about the top of the baord (per say). But that all depends on the size of the noid your going to try.

(Im acutally working on this right now,.. but if I can figure it out I'll snap some pictures for you. Im not using an EGO frame though)

The next hurdle is: Solenoid mount

You need something to mound the noid to. Mostly on the bottom.
If you look around in the forums,.. search for home mage devil mag frames where someone used a RPG Chimera frame. Basically the problem is that the frame doesnt have any meat to hold the noid in place on the bottom so what someone did was machine a block of metal to hold the noid in place and then milled out the frame to house the block.

I usually dont take pictures of what Im working on because I want it to work before showing it.

Right now Im EP'ing an E-Mag (I have to get the trigger working,.. last thing left to do)
Im doing a new Devil Mag install on an Angel frame and a Chimera frame with both an E-Noid as well as an EP noid.

Im off for the winter so Im trying to stay busy.

      Good luck!

Thanks! I already have an EP Mag, done with an Aiwalk frame and a Predator board. I was thinking of an Electro Mag, similar to a Devil frame but using simpler parts, like an Ego frame. The Ego frame itself is very good since it has a huge clearance for the fingers and it also has the display in the back that helps so much when you want to adjust the settings and check your BPS and so on. I also like the triggers and how they use two different systems (switch and sensor).

Anyway, you can see my Mag here:

She's running for the Mag of Month right now and if you would like to see more pics, including the EP installation, check this link:

                Ah okay.

I saw the spyder web grip pannels and the rail and it looks SOOOOOOO much like another guys gun on here.

That EP mag setup,.... I wish I had saw this post earlier.

I finished stage one of my Devil Mag Frame. I used the same power switch you did but mounted on the backside of the frame (milled a slot for it)

I also did the trigger switch the same way but I think mine is set alot more forward than yours is from the photos I can see. I was going to use the trigger rod to touch the switch but I didnt know how the drag would effect the pull and release. So now Im using a set screw in the trigger to contact the switch.

I have the holes drilled, still have to tap the holes and drill the trigger. Hope to be done all that tomorrow. Did most of the milling and soldering tonight.
