    Can anyone identify my bolt

Can anyone identify my bolt? It was an aftermarket foamiless venturi. It is pretty good (gentle) on paint. to the best of my recollection, if I broke four balls over the coarse of the day, something else was wrong with the gun. Those used to be a case a day times.
My friend had just purchased his minimag, sent it to smarts parts for the four hole mod and v-cut. I was fortunate at the time to have a machinest friend, who copied the smarts parts mod (actually did a much cleaner job), for a bottle of Canadian Mist.

I am going to put a double trigger on the gun, but I don't want to butcher my stock frame. I just found these parts online for $25, so I wont feel bad about gutting the frame out.

On a side note, I just came back from one of the local PB stores and was feeling a little beat down and broken. I was looking at a HPA tank and started talking to the manager/ owner when he told me that no one shoots automags anymore and that a new tippman 98
with a better than stock barrel would be worth more/shoot better than my gun. I thanked him for his perspective . Needless to say, I did not buy a HPA tank from him.

Wow, it sounds like he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. I'd be worried about buying ANYTHING from him.

Hmm.... marker with an integrated regulator, stainless steel construction, and lots more vs. mass produced, unpolished stamped metal. He's either looking to sell a marker or has no clue what is is talking about. Or he could just really like 98 customs

It's definitely a venturi bolt - of what brand I can't tell. If you haven't had any problems with it you should be fine. The problem some people had with those bolts is that they don't have anything to keep the ball in a forward position, like a foamie. The ball could roll back somewhat and cause a few more chops.

One thing I wanted to add, All of the mods where all done back in '95-96 time frame.
does anyone have any Idea if the 32* trigger frames are any good. I couln't pass up on the price.

            The BOLT

looks like an "ANS Phase ll" bolt. it should have some stamping on the side of the bolt that is touching the cloth/paper.

You could cut a piece of quality foam or rubber and glue a dot of it in the center. that would help with a buffer on the paintballs.

so far, with everything I've read on here... for goodness sake, get that magic box thing off of your mag... it's worthless/decreases your efficency.

And that 98 guy doesn't know what he's talking about. The mag will do all the 98 will and more.

Yeah that looks like my ANS venturi bolt as mentioned above. It came with tiny round foamies that would always shoot off/disappear but without them look just like that. I used it recently with no foamie and no chops. But get a level 10 kit, just got an X-valve with the new bolt (lv10) system and ule trigger kit and love the upgrade.
That black thing mistaken for the magic box is a proline inline filter.

I had one, it made my gun leak and let balls roll back and made me have a lot of barrel breaks. Since i've found and switched to a level 7 bolt i haven't had that problem, so if you have these problems with that bolt i recommend the switch, all you need is the bolt, no kits or anything.

I don't know how new you are to mags so if you need pictures of what i'm talking about let me know.

Thanks everyone for the input, I really appriciate it. I can't say I've had too many breaks. with the bolt, now after the inputs I remember that it did have a fomie when it was new. I had forgotten that. I had just stopped putting them on and saw no difference in breakage.
I played new years day in 14 degree weather with no major problems (co2 with expansion @ the gun.) as long as I kept the rate of fire down a little.
Does any one know about how many shots you can get out of a 72ci/3000 hpa tank?
I know theyre heavy but I would till run a remote. I Like the setup.
                      Thanks again all.

Have a BOLT just like it .... It is a 32* venturi that is MISSING it's foamee.
It actually was nothing more than an @ 1/8" thick X 1/4" diameter self adhesive backed piece of black sponge rubber. You can cut them from thicker material like an old wet suit, then CA glue it in place like this
