    X valve leaking out back

Hi guys, I have an x valve in my ULE and it started leakin air out of the back hole where you adjust the velocity. It just started one day for no aparent reason. I was playin and all of a sudden my shots were getting really hot and inconsistent. I broke down the xvalve and all orings are fine and everything else looks good. I did not use C02 in the gun and it isnot from having my velocity up too high.

    Any ideas?
    Is it an expensive fix?

Turn the velocity down, it vents out the back as a precautionary measure so you dont hurt anything once you hit high velocities.

Sounds like you need a new reg seat (the little flat donut looking thing). If that isn't sealing, the mag's reg will overpressurize, vent, and you will get hot shots.

Does it sound like it is shooting hot or vent even when you turn the velocity barely over zero and let it sit for a minute?

        If so, reg seat.

I know this is true for a classic valve, but looking at the regulator valve pin for the RT series of valves, it is going to take me a bit to figure out what is going on there.

        Edit: from http://www.automagsuk.com/classicandrt.html

        1. A leak out of the velocity adjuster hole -

There's a number of things that could do this. The most common is a bad reg piston or you are over pressurizing the reg so it relieves pressure to keep the valve from shooting hot(try turning down the velocity or making sure the air tank isn't pumping out an extremely high amount of pressure). Other possible problems are a bad reg piston o'ring(check it and grease it), or too low of a velocity setting(try turning up the velocity). You will also get a leak if you do not pressurize the valve fast enough or there isn't enough pressure to seal the valve itself.

Yeah, i had the leaking problem and it was the reg piston, dunno if this is it for you but more than likely it is.

This is generally a regulator seat oring issue. If you change this oring, you should be fine.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
