    Tapping a 45 Degree Foregrip

From the image here you can get an idea of what I'm trying to do. I currently have a 45 degree foregrip attached to my rail, and I need to tap and thread a new hole for an LPR so that it sits underneath and parallel to the barrel. My concern is that the tap won't be perpendicular to the foregrip and there won't be enough threads on the LPR catching the foregrip for it to be secure.

Has anyone ever tried to tap a new hole that was NOT perpendicular to the foregrip? Assuming there are "enough" threads catching to securely mount the LPR, should I be too concerned that it's not perpendicular?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

i say send it to luke here on AO.... that would be difficult .. he does 15* so a 45 should be no problem..

Seconded. 45 is really steep though. You'll probably have some sort of counter sink on the down hill side to get enough threads in the hole. I would expect to put the lpr on, then put the foregrip on. Send the lpr to Luke with the foregrip. Tapping that straight will be an impressive feat. Post pics when its finished!

That's a tough cut and you don't want your lpr dangling like a broke [body part].
