Stupid valve leak question

I have a minimag valve with the phase II venturi bolt. When I try to use this bolt it leaks down the barrel like a sieve. I have tried all of the different power tube spacers and it still leaks. I put a level 7 bolt on and the leak goes away. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Is the venturi bolt worth this headache? If I had any hair left I'd be pulling out about now. Those venturi bolts are notoriously bad. Stick with the level 7 bolt, it shoots much better. The venturi design was just a marketing gimmick that doesn't actually do much of anything besides restrict the flow to the ball. Not to mention I never liked the quality of ANS' products.
