    Question about Older Minimag Valve

Hey guys, I need some advice, I got a game coming up and I thought I almost fixed this mag (sear rod was too far out before), but I'm running out of gas, so I need some suggestions:

This is the older minimag with the older style on/off and no stars.

    1) Should I replace the on/off with an updated one? The old one seems to be less efficient then a new one, especially when I got shots off a 12 gram.

    2) I seem to have some recharge issues, the first shot is fine, but once I start pulling the trigger faster it doesnt recharge enough and starts chuffing, is this a case of using spacers or perhaps it's the fact that I'm running out of gas? If I shoot really slow, like 1 shot per two seconds, it gives it more then enough time to recharge.

    Thanks

    Brian

    1) The older styled on/offs work pretty much the same as the newer one. The only difference I can tell is that the on/off bottom on the newer ones can be put in either way. They don't any effect on air efficiency. However, you can put an RT on/off in and reduce your trigger pull.

    2) Mine was recharging slowly once, make sure you velocity is up high enough. It's hard to tell without a chronograph, but there's a certain point on the regulator adjusting nut where the marker will fire, but it won't recharge quickly at all. Usually like a quarter turn clockwise will fix this.

I ran out of gas, had to get more.

I still don't know why it's not recharging quick enough, If I do two short bursts, the bolt only goes halfway on the second shot. I've changed spacers, lubed springpack, turned the velocity up and down. I'm stumped.

I just threw an RT on/off in there and it works, on/off was the culprit!

If your on-off top was in upside down, it could have affected your recharge. Also, change your bolt spring. It is a consumable item that needs replacing periodically.

A retro on-off asembly will give you a nice light trigger pull (4lbs) compared to the stock on-off assembly (8lbs).
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

A stock electronic spyder is about 2 lbs. 8 lbs, really isn't that bad, even now for a mechanical gun. It was quite a bit lighter than most mechanical guns when it came out. The retro on-off makes quite a bit lighter pull than most mechanical guns now.
