I have a Tac One, an E-Mag, another Mag, and several extra parts laying around. I like to swap components around. I decided to use my Tac One's rail with the E-Mag while the E-Mag is having its rail ULE milled by Luke. To my surprise, the sear pin would not come out. As it reached the end of its threads, it started making this awful squeaking noise as I turned it. The sear was also not rotating on the pin easily. At the end of the threads, it would not pull out. Very odd, especially since I have installed an RT Pro sear before on another rail, and it fit together and came apart smoothly.
Eventually, figuring it couldn't possibly hurt, I put some 3-in-1 oil on the pin and the threads, and screwed it back in. This time, when I unscrewed it, it came out without a problem and none of that awful noise. There is no evidence of what could have caused the problem on either the sear or the pin. Very strange. Only thing I can think of is that it had a dry bearing and was such a tight fit that it just didn't want to move. At any rate, it's out now, and the rail is now on my E-Mag.
Anyone else seen anything like this?
