    Automag for field use

I am opening a new indoor site (not sup-air). I've been given the opertunity to purchase the field mag at a fair price.

    1. How suitable is this marker for 20 hours play a week?

    2. How often (after how many hours play) are all the seals likely to need replacing?

any other comments pros and cons compare to other rental gun i.e tipmann98 welcomed.

    Thanks for help.

I find that time tends to degrade the seals more than use. Every few years something goes out on my Automag.

So long as you have a source of air it is plenty ready for use 24/7. Stainless steel body and simple design make it exceptionally reliable.

The only downside is that you really need to use thick paint if you plan on putting it in the hands of rental players. Without a level 10 (which a field mag will need to have it's power tube drilled out for) it will chop paint occasionally and rental players seem to be particularly good at knowing how to do that.

I personally think it's a definite notch up from a 98 custom. You're getting a marker that is more durable and is capable of achieving far more consistent velocities. If you ever do have take it apart you will be glad it's an Automag. 98 Customs are crude enough you don't really have to take them apart or clean them very often, but when you do it's a pain. You have to unscrew all of the allen screws on the side, and wen opening the body make sure no springs fly out anywhere. After taking out all the parts and cleaning the two clamshell halves putting the marker back together is equally difficult.
