Problem with my R/T Classic - Air Leakage :)

So, I'm leaking air out the back of the gun. The thing is though, it's not coming out of the back of the regulator so I don't think its the regulator piston.

It seems like it's coming out of the regulator someplace else and leaking out through the valve guide area, but also at times it sounds/feels like it's coming out thru the front end of the trigger frame. It's hard to tell exactly where it's coming from.

Would it make sense that it's leaking out of the little vent that sticks out of the back part of the regulator that uses the guide on the body to allow the valve to go in? If not where else could it be leaking from?

I've double checked every oring and they all look good. The thing is, it WAS working fine until recently. All of a sudden when I was firing it, it started leaking. I put the tank on, no problem. Fired a few rounds thru it, no leaks. Then all of a sudden started leaking!!!

    Any thoughts guys?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If it was coming out of the vel. adjuster, you can tell for sure by putting the allen key into it. If its not the piston venting, then try to change the oring in between the regulator halves.

Other things to check would be the other overpressure vent in the body. On the Xmags its on the drivers side of the valve near where the reg spits - im not sure where it is on the classic RT. Also check the on/off body orings.

I'm thinking the overpressure vent is the piece that I'm thinking it's coming out of. It's the small little "exhaust pipe" that comes out the side of the valve that the guide in the body uses to make sure the valves goes in correctly. If it is, it's on the passenger side right before the reg split. Is that what you're talking about? What does that connect to and why would air be leaking out of there?

I have checked the on/off orings a few times. I'm thinking I may try to replace the oring that is the seal between the two halves, but it looks fine.

Just a thought. If I over-oiled the gun could that have caused it? I just bought the gun and it was sitting in a closet for 4+ years, so I put some oil in the ASA and it was probably 10or 15 drops. I can't really imagine that too much oil would be a problem, but hey who knows I'm only asking because after I did that is when it really started acting up...

If its a RT classic its probably the banjo bolt orings
try tightemimg and loosenening the banjo bolt while its aired up to see if the leak changes

I'm having the same problem with my brothers classic RT. It is not an Oring, I've replaced EVERY one of em. It's not the Banjo bolt, thats all new orings and it's tight. I'm lost, I never seen a mag leak like this before and I can't find the source. I replaced the on off, the valve pin...I'm about to send it to AGD and in 60 or so different mags over the years I never ahd one I couldn't fix...guess there's a first for everything. Lithum when I figure it out I'll pm you.

That would be great! I have an idea what it is, but I'm out of air

I'm going to find out tomorrow when I head to the field. Do some testin'

When I had the gun apart last night looking to make sure the valve pin orings were ok I noticed the oring that is supposed to be in the recessed part of the black half of the valve was around the pin. So I oiled it up and put it in it's proper home. I then went and screwed the two halves together a few times to make sure it didn't come out of the groove and it didn't. So I'm hoping that was the problem.

On another note. The valve pin. It has the two orings seperated by a plastic washer looking thing. Mine looks broken. It is seperated in one spot. Is that to allow you to take it off? If not, does it really do anything other than keep the two orings apart and keep the rest of the pin 's pieces from moving?
