maybe i need a new carrier?

ok i was setting up my trigger stops (oooo nooo baadddd, ya what ever) and i got it to a very very very nice short pull but i keep getting my bolt catching before it returns all the way and i either need to depress the sear pin very far back or just push the bolt back. i havent been using the gun a lot and im using a pretty tight carrier i think. thats what ive been able to trace it to be cause i can rip a long string with the trigger set very short but then will get the bolt stuck. so yes/no? any other suggestions

Yes, sounds like too tight a carrier, or not enough oil. You are getting too much "stiction".

You want the largest carrier that does not leak, not the smallest that will fire
Be sure to feed her oil
Add shims if you encounter bolt-stick

      alright thats what i thought

im sad that i had to come back and ask but its been over a year since ive needed to work on my gun since ive been off at school and not gotten to play much. i really hope i will be able to get it to that super short pull because it was almost stupid short (no issue getting the RT to kick in at all any more, and walking it like an electro almost short)

thanks, ill try to get it set up well now later today (was going to say tomorrow), theres a nice little shop by my house that is the only place around here anymore but they have bad hours (5-8 week days and i think most of the day sat) but their fills are sooo cheap (3.15 total for 2 fills at just over 4K)

ok well i just needed to bump up to the next largest carrier (any more than that and it leaks pretty bad). i still get a few ploppy shots here and there but mostly when i get down to below 2k of air. when im above that i can get the gun to roll.

the lvl X is set up fine about as far back as you can have it before it leaks resting,

dumped oil in but i still have a little bit of catch mostly its more so now a ploppy shot or the bolt sticks for a second one return vents some then clicks back all the way. its not over tightened and its oiled fine so im not sure, my bolt bumper is pretty old and about 1/3 of it on the inside has broken down and fallen out so that may be partly it (going to order some more tonight).
