Quick Spring Pack Assembly Question

I am replacing the Regulator Piston Assembly on my mag. I have pulled off the back screw and out came the spring pack. It appears pretty grimey and black. Is this grease or is this just dirt? Should I clean it off or leave it alone?

Also since it sort of popped off does the end with the disk on it go against the back nut or against the reg. piston assembly?

Yeah its gunna look grimey and almost tannish-green

leave it unless you can replace it. I dont know what it is sorry about that..

And make sure the spring pack goes back in the right order/orientation

Does the end with the disc on the spring face towards the barrel or face towards the back of the marker?
