    Micromag RT and ball breakage

I just got a used Micromag RT and played with it a couple times and had a hard time with ball breakage.

It's currently running an ANS Phase II bolt and 12V rev. with a good paint/barrel match. And the detente is working properly and I am not short stroking.

What could be causing the breakage?

I hear that AGD has a new longer bolt out? Is there anything else I can try to reduce the ball breakage?

What are other people's experiences with the Micromag RT and ball breakage? I love the look and feel of it, but can't stand breaking paint this often.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    RE: Ball Breakage

The foamyless bolt in both the automag and minimag have a tendency to break thin shelled paint. Either switch to marblizer or proball or buy a foamy bolt.

The ANS Phase II bolt does have a foamy on it.

Does the new AGD bolt have a foamy?

      Thanks,
      Steve

Just a note: i have been using a automag for more than 5 years, got it just after it came out. i have seen every aftermarket product for the mag. as near as i can tell if it does not come from AGD it probably will not work w/ the gun. AGD uses exacting specifications that most aftermarket manufactures have difficulty reaching on a regular basis, except perhaps for centerflag. My first suggestion is to try the standard bolt. i would not use anything else.

Is this your first mag? If so, make sure you arent short stroking the trigger. Pull it all the way back and let it snap forward.

a_malfunctoin: he just said he is not short stroking plus he has an RT so it's not as easy to short stroke..

                I agree with raider_o1.

                Use the stock bolt parts.

pull out the guts and look through the back at the point were the barrel and body come together. sometimes barrell dosnt line up properly when screwed in and there will be a lip that will cause alot of problems.Had to ream out the egde to make a smoothe transfer form body to barrel.

Thanks for all the advice. Another thing I heard is that the powerfeed plug may need to be replaced.

I read in the forums where Rob from AGD suggested adusting the powerfeed plug to reduce ball breakage. I wouldn't replace it, but adjust it
