plastic nubbin question

how far out should the plastic nubbin extend on the outside of the barrel? would it cause issues because when i put it in my barrel, the inside of the body pushes it in. this makes the plastic nubbin inside of the barrel go from 1mm to 2mm. this is a non-sanded first batch plastic nubbin. shoudl i sand it down? if so where?

i did a search and shaved the outside little bump while it was pressed in at the tip.hope this works.
