filing a rail into a frame?

Question? If I setup kind of a jig and carefully filed a rail into a grip frame at a 45 do you think it would be structurally sound? Or is there some hardening process that I'm not taking into account?

Go pick up some scrap aluminum from the hardware store to practice on. The chances of botching a frame with a file are very, very good. If you pull this off, I will be infinitely impressed.

I think dovetails are 60* anyway, if that helps.
