    High speed chuffing

Hey guys, I'm pretty sure this has been asked but I can't seem to find it and I'm exhausted from reading through the Lvl 10 help guide.

    So...

How do you solve high speed chuffing?

I have an X-valve with ULT and a preset 850 psi tank regulator. When firing under about 10bps it is fine, but once I start walking it (pneumag). It starts to choke. With balls, it will push the ball and t will drop straight down out of the barrel.

Is it the ULT or the Lvl 10?

    Thanks in advance

Sounds like the ULT, or maybe your ram isn't returning fast enough.

I'd check the ram first. You might be able to find a stronger spring in a local hardware store.

shortstroking it maybe? takes skill to master walking a pneu its not forgiving like an electro where you can barely touch the trigger with one finger and full forceing with the other.

It's in the ULT, try changing the amount of shims used.

          Try this, worked for me..

Maybe your to much force from your hopper, detents or a combination of both.

I have the trigger on magnet returns so it usually pushes past the shortstroking point. I think I will have to look at the ULT perhaps I put too many shims in . And it might be worth it to look at the o-ring if it continues.

Thanks for all the responses guys!

I would think 850psi would be enough, wouldn't it?

850psi is just the pressure it is at, what is dependant is the volume of air at a certain pressure.

Increase your LPR pressure a tad. Then a tad more if it doesnt work the first time.

If that doesnt solve the problem, you could have something more going on there than you realize. What is your set up? What body? What Rail? What grip frame, ect. Cyberave had one to work on that did the same exact thing. We fiddled with it for a long time before realizing it was something with the bolt itself. He simply put a different one on and the problem went away.

Try tuning the valve on a mech marker (none-pneu). Use the same body as the other gun.

wow I really hope it's not that bad

                        I'm running:
                        RT Pro Rail
                        IT Body
Logic Vert version 2 (I think)
                        Cyberave internals

I drilled a hole in the RT pro rail for the foregrip and it looks like it's leaving a mark on the body so I guess I'll make it deeper (maybe it's pushing up on the body causing misalignment)?. Other than that I guess I have to pull out some shims from the ULT and make sure my Lvl 10 carrier is almost too loose.

Thanks for all the replies guys!

If your pushing up on the body, then there you go.

Take the foregrip off and try it.

Thanks once again for all your support!

I was kind of surprised the mag was even working at all. I milled the sear to make room for the ram, flipped the ram so the purge hole isn't blocked, lowered the position of the ram as well as realign it, drilled a deeper hole for the foregrip, and played around with the valve...and the final verdict is....still Chuffing!

I had a chance to play this weekend and it fires fine but once I get into the walking phase the marker chuffs like crazy...and sometimes it will chuff and I have to wait a second or two for it to reset

I haven't tried messing around with the dedents but that's my next step.
