If you haven't already pulled your reg apart, try this first (it might be an easy fix): screw your velocity adjuster all the way in, and then back it out and see if you can get a higher velocity. Sometimes the reg spring sticks, and hitting it with the velocity adjuster un-sticks it. It might not work, but if it does it's way easier than pulling apart your reg.

Why don't you just find a local mag guru from here on the site and buy em a beer to go over your mag for ya....

          ??

It's good to have a teacher who is up on everything and knows what to check and uncheck....

If you do pull it yourself, make sure and have a flat table and a cloth laid out so that as you disassemble the valve you put the parts laid out in order of the assembly... If you have a memory like mine then you can also do it in steps and take a pic with a digital camera after you pull each part out. Then clean all the parts, and re assemble them using the photos for reference.

Don't give up, I'm sure you'll be pleased when you get it runnin.... They can be finicky and a PITA sometimes though. I know I've had my share of it.

Does your mag have an after market velocity adjuster like an ans thumbscrew if so alot of them are cut deeper than the stock velocity adjuster knob and may require shims (usually a couple of small washers will do)

This is a picture of the part in question

I haven't tried taking the regulator apart yet, I'll do so when I get home from my game later tonight.. and try to change all the orings, and lube it well

where should I apply grease though????

Level 7 bolts should have a spring that is either gold in color or possibly black (the black ones are the old ones) Additionally, the gold/black springs should just barely extend above the nose of the bolt. When you say that your spring is 'aluminum' in color (i presume that means its 'silver') I would think that there is a possibility that you have a 'long spring' for a lvl 10 bolt in there. IF this is the case, then that bolt spring would require you to turn up the reg pressure a good bit to overcome the resistance of the stronger spring. If you have an older reg piston in there, then there's a reallly good chance that the reg piston would be venting out the back long before you get the gun shooting at 300 fps. If this is the case, then try to find a short 'gold' spring for your bolt and see what happens.

              Hope this helps,

YES YES YES I think you nailed it on the head. My friend get a parts kit from AGD and a new reg pistion. Put the new spring in and replace the pistion just in case you want to upgrade to a level 10 bolt later down the road. I had the same problem that you are having. i did some reading and fixed it with the above parts. Stick with the Mag and the more you learn the more you will find out no other Paintball gun is easer to work on. Once you fix it all you have to do is keep it clean and lubed and you will be a happy camper.
