    VM68 "cup" seal?

I have a VM68 I would like to sell off but it leaks. Finally found some time to tear it down and it looks like the "cup seal" is bad Atleast thats what I think you would call it.

The seal that seals off the valve. Where can I purchase a replacement?

You could always try to find a washer. I tried a nylon washer on a spyder valve once, it leaked a little, but I think it was because it was really hard. I don't even know what cupseals are usually made of, or what durometer they're supposed to be, but you could probably find something that works. Maybe a piece of warp drive disc.

I used to use cocker cup seals once the VM ones disappeared. Im not sure if the 2k+ ones are exactly the same as the pre-2k, but they are easy to find and cheap and will probably work.

send it to sheridan. i sent mine in a few years ago and they hooked me up pretty good. new seals, a few parts replaced, nicely tuned, the works. it ran me about 35 bucks shipped. they've apparently still got some parts and at least one guy who knows how to fix them.

you could also call them, but i'm not so sure you'd get the right folks on the phone.

If memory serves, Chris Mader ran VM Empire, but when something happened to that site, MCB absorbed it as a forum.

See here and ask for parts => http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/vm-empire/

MCBers are like AOers. Friendly and love the classic stuff.

Pre-2K Autococker cup seals work on VM68's.
