    red lvl10 spring probs

I cant get my lvl 10 to fire with the red spring. I am using the largest carrier I have. I cranked the velocity nut all the way up and it still did not work. It will fire with the lvl 7 spring. btw I have a 850psi tank.

I have a older retro valve and I also can not use the red spring. The acswer I was given was that on older RTs the level X isnt 100% drop in. You might have to get a new reg piston that is adjusted for the higher operating pressure of the level X. It is 25 bucks plus 6 dollar minimum shpping. I decided to not worry about it and just use the gold spring and some thicker shelled paint.

What is the lowest velocity that the gun will shoot with the short gold spring?

Turn the velocity nut out until the gun won't shoot. Then, while repeatedly pulling the trigger (not holding the tirgger), turn the nut in until the gun shoots. Record the velocity. Ideally, the gun should start shooting at about 20fps below the desired velocity. If the gun starts shooting at a really low velocity, go to the next longer/stiffer spring. On the flip side, if the gun doesn't start shooting until the velocity is too high, you need a lighter spring.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
