Does input pressure matter on an Emag?

Hey guys, I'm looking at picking up an emag from the local proshop and they're pushing me hard to pick up a new tank as well. I know from my previous mags that the trigger reactivity is noticably better at higher pressures. What I'm wondering is if that is the same for emags? With the electronic trigger engagement, does the high pressure tank come into play at all, or would I be better off just buying a preset at like 850 or so.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

For a quick answer, I don't think it is that necessary. I could be wrong though. I do know that the emag valve needs some reactivity to help reset the noid (which is why the ULT is not suitable for emags) but in "E" mode, I *think* a preset will be fine.

However, when you switch to mech mode, an adjustable will allow you set the RT effect to how you personally like it.

    Necessary, no.
Better, yes (if you think more options are better. :)).

The emag pin is shorter than the stock RT pin so it is easyier to RT in mech mode. for emags a nice 850 is perfect, what you really need is a nice high flowing reg. My personal favorites are from centerflag.

Didn't you ever hear "Don't spend it all in one place?" :).
And..I'm gonna want to shoot that E-mag!

It would probably be a hassle but if you wanted to try out an adjustable tank before buying you could test with mine (and...I would get to shoot that E-mag!).

I have a few E-Mags that do different things based on the time I got them and the bottles I ran with them.

For my first E-Mag (Tequila Sunrise), I run a preset 800psi bottle and my on/off pin is a .687-.684 The difference in this pin length over the stock .714 is my mech mode on the preset bottle is reactive & consistanly holds the ROF without starving the valve @ 15bps.

I have taken it to 17bps a few times,.. but I didnt like the accuracy I was getting in that volume of paint.

The Red PTP Micro E-Mag that I have is a CRAZY paint slinger with a preset and the shorter .687 pin. Cyberave68, MadMarx, t0nnn, Mongoose, & Jay8541 will all speak on this guns behalf. This particular valve in the gun will rip an entire loader off @ 18bps without fail. I get the best results from this one particular setup.

Im finding the shorter pin length works best for my preset bottles.

Anyone else besides BigEvil use them??

.687 is the standard length on/off pin for PTP Mirco E-Mags.

You would be hard pressed to get one working without that pin length.
