    New to mags and HPA

I have a micromag with a retro valve, lvl 10 and an Inteli frame on it. I'm needing to get into HPA and Im not sure what I am needing.

    My requirements
    Cheap
    Cheap
1000-1200 shots fired from one tank

I'm looking at an Air America 114ci @ 3000psi tank its preset to 800psi output (I need to find out if I can adjust the output to a higher pressure). anyhoo how many shots can I get off of something like this? the tank is huge.

What kind of tank brand and features should I be hunting for on e-bay?

    adjustable regulators?
    Brands?
What regulators are adjustable so I will know even if the seller doesnt say it? details like that

i&isports on ebay might have something, they usually have some pretty cheap rehydro'd tanks and parts. the air tanks/accessories section of the B/S/T board on here would be my first pick though, because then you can at least ask the current owner questions on how it performed.

as far as the number of shots, there's no way to tell.

if you're wanting the RT effect to kick in, i seriously doubt that 800 psi is going to do that.

for 1000-1200 shots, if everything is tuned right and you're not dry firing, an 88ci tank could probably do it for you. i can't say for sure as my 88/4.5k flatline combo is still sitting on my workbench unassembled and as yet unused.

The rt effect will work at 800 psi in SOME valves and not others...i dont really understand it. my x bounces crazy at 800, same with one other buddy. but one that i got recently for someone else doesnt bounce proper till 1000. its kinda hit or miss.

it is hit and miss, true. unfortunately it's only been one "sort of" hit and a truckload of misses for me at 850psi. not completely sure, but i think it has to do with the length of your on/off pin, meaning easier to hit if it's been worn down a little. i'm not about to go filing mine down just to test the idea.

the xvavle that came with my Emag would do it only in hybrid mode, and a couple of my other x valves had the feel that they might just be on the verge of going into that RT effect, but not quite getting there. the closest i came was one of my classic RT valves that would do two shot bursts once in a while if it was hot enough outside.

after grabbing a handful of flatline regs though, and feeding my markers 1100-1200psi, problem solved.

Based on my air consumption with my emag, a 114ci 3000 psi tank would give me about 1500 shots on a fill. I get about 1150 shots on a 88ci 3000psi tank.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I've picked up a geddon and an Old school Apoc reg to try on my classic RT. From what I've seen, these things are probably the best at getting the RT effect going (great recharge rate of the valve, and they can be mounted with a standard drop as opposed to needing a reg specific drop like a raptor or flatline). If your getting a 114/3000 or a 88/3000, I'd probably recommend an old school Apoc as they are cheap and can be rebuilt with nothing more then a mag parts kit. Only disadvantage is that the old school apocs are made from stainless steel and are on the heavy side for a reg.

MacDev regs output around 900 PSI. You'll get the RT effect easily out of one of these.

I just bought a High pressure Smart Parts Max Flow Nitro 4500psi 88ci Fiber Tank. I should of asked first if it would work- all the info and reviews led me to believe it would.
