    Air System/Qbow/Longbow Questions

Hi, I will be buying a Tac-One within a few weeks and I'm deciding what to do for an air system. I think I will eventually upgrade to the Q or Longbow, but I won't be doing that for a little while. I know I need an air system and I don't know what I need to get. Does the Q/Longbow come with an air system? It looks like it runs out of the stock, but would I need anything else? And if I didn't go with either of these systems, what should I look for in getting a good low profile system? Thanks.

good choice for a nice reliable marker. As for the long bow or q-bow...it will depend on your playing style to be honest. If you are a player with a good accurate shot, and have the skills to play with limited paint, then an longbow is for you..if you like to sometimes get heavy on the trigger, and play aggressive while unloading paint at someone, then the q-bow is for you since you can carry a lot more paint on your person during a game.

As for an air system, they do not come with the longbow/q-bow setup..Again, the type/size of tank you want depends on your flexibility on finances, and how much air you want to carry on the field. There are many great HPA tanks on the market, its a matter of preference to be quite honest. You can either shell the money to get a nice light carbon fibre tank, or pay less, and get a little heavier steel tank...

    Good luck with your purchases!

      From experience:

      1. Make sure you order the Tac One with the Longbow-ready Rail

      2. The Tac One can ONLY use HPA. I personally recommend Crossfire or MacDev tanks. MacDev sets their regulators to output around 900 PSI, which is ideal for these guns.

      3. The Longbow setup uses a remote air system with the nipple at the back of the stock. You will need an HPA tank, a remote line, and a means to carry that HPA tank on your person. Preferably a vest of some sort.

      4. You can save a LOT of money and get a better setup for less money if you're smart.

My personal experience with the Longbow shroud and stock are that it's very heavy and messes up all the great field strip capabilities of the Tac One (it singlehandedly doubles or triples the weight of the gun). And the Q-Loader is a pain in the butt if you go Q-Bow. I'm currently doing final testing on my personal Mag configuration that will be a lighter alternative. You'll get superior ergonomics but at greatly reduced cost.

You can put a Q-Loader on it if you want, although I wouldn't (ignore the E-Mag stickers; just reused a rail).

      1. RT ULE Custom with Warp mainbody (note: comes with foregrip. Mine doesn't have one at present)

      2. Luke's 90 degree elbow (can be used to mount a hopper or Q-Loader / Warp hose)

      3. Palmers 45 degree clamping elbow

      4. Specops T2W Air-Through Stock

The total cost of all of this is around $700, plus whatever loader you need. If you mount a hopper, it must be force-fed. Q-Loaders are already force-fed, so that's not a problem.

What you get: the ball detent on top becomes a sight bead, and you get full centerline sighting over your marker. The marker remains very lightweight and practical.

very nice setup. i always thought that the longbow was a little impracticle for most people. (if you can make it work all the more power to ya) but people at my field who wish that they had a longbow are people who need to pour half a hopper in my direction to take me out. (they get a little trigger happy)

It would be forgivable except for the weight. And they honestly could have retained the field strip if they designed it a bit differently, although then it wouldn't work on original RT's. That's why I tell people looking to build something like that to go with the Ion version instead. The Ion has a composite bodykit instead which keeps the whole thing much lighter and more manageable. I honestly think the concept is brilliance. It's just that technology wasn't ready for it (the Q-Loader being rather junky, the required shroud, etc.). So instead I make my own way, using conventional parts in an unconventional way. Thus was born my own "Mag Rifle".

I have set this thing up on my E-Mag as well. Works just as well. Only problem is the weight. That's the price you pay for firepower, though. I just wish someone would make up a lightweight Lithium Ion battery pack for it.
