Velocity is low

I have a classic valve and I can only get 220 fps. The velocity nut is screwed all the way in. Any ideas? The only thing I can think is that it might need a new spring pack. It is old, how old? At least 15 years. Thanks peter

is the velocity nut stock or aftermarket? some of the aftermarket ones were cut deeper and you might need to shim it with a couple of small washers , or you could try a new spring pack.

Everything is stock on the valve but the lvl 10. I think I will try the sping pack.

are you using high or low pressure tank?
same happened to me but then again i forgot to crank my max-flo back to 900psi after installing another lower half.

I'd try adding a couple of washers inside the adjuster cap. That will allow you to add more pressure to the spring pack which will allow a higher chamber pressure and thus increase your output velocity.

Tried putting a washer in the velocity adj. nut already and it didnt help. Granted it wasnt too big.

Try two or three washers.

Also. have you replaced your regulator seat oring? If it is old, it may be deformed, causing the valve pin to seal early, thus limiting the velocity range.

If you are using CO2 in cold temperatures or a HPA tank with a low pressure (blue collar) regulator, that would keep you from getting up to a high enough pressure to get higher velocities.

What type of tank are you using?
