    X valve issues.

When I gas up my Tac-One, and try to fire, nothing happens. The trigger is pressurized, and I can pull the trigger normally, but it doesnt fire, its just a gassed up trigger. I am using an 850psi crossfire tank.Im using a .5 carrier as a 1 liner leaks on me. I also have the red spring in, but the gold spring doesnt work either.

Also, quick question--It was 1 in the morning yesterday and I wasnt tired so I decided to try to see what the problem was...well I took it apart, and when I was reinstalling it, all I put in was the valve, no powertube tip or bolt. dont ask me how, but I did it.When I gassed it up air was screaming down the gun and it shot my carrier/washer/ accross the room, still MIA it is.Could this have messed anything up besides a lost carrier and white washer thingy that goes before the carrier?

    Thanks in advance, Lidocaine

Turn up your velocity. Loosen frame screws if over-tightened. Add oil.

Could have damaged threads or barrel.

Is your carrier o-ring broken in yet? New o-rings leak until you break them in. After breaking them in, then you find your carrier that doesn't leak.

I dont know how but I just put a gold spring in and it was working fantastic.
I threw one shim in there and it stopped all of the bolt stick, now lets hope the consistency is cleared up over the chrono and ill be one happy camper!!

The bolt stick will return once the oil thins out from firing. Shims don't stop it. The only way to stop it is to use the next larger carrier with the same white carrier oring. Always use the largest carrier size that does not leak. Test the carrier size without any shims installed.

Make sure you have the backing washer in place. It won't work properly without it.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

the backing washer is the white washer that goes in before you put the carrier assembly in the powertube, right?

Lately I seem to have a ton of play on my Tac even though the thumb screw is screwed in fairly tight. Any ideas on what I could do to tighten it up?Its the body mostly, it wobbles around quite a bit even when screw is tightened.

Tighten the grip frame screw. It is the one that holds the body tight, not the thumb screw at the back. If the body still won't tighten down, the screw could be too long, or possibly the small threaded pim on the bottom of the body is bottoming out in the rail.

thanks a bunch thomas, I didnt see the grip screw. It was so loose I could thread it in and out with my hand. It is now extremely sturdy.

I gassed up my tac with the gold spring, its at about 270 chrony speed right now ( played last weekend). I put red spring in to see what would happen, and well nothing happens. I know to turn up the velocity when this happens, but I had to crank it up a good 1 1/2 turns to get it to fire, and I read that one full turn is approx. 100 fps, so if im at about 370 fps right now...thats not good? I thought most people used red springs in their level 10s?
Could there be a problem with my gun?

One full turn may be 100 fps using the original spring on a level 7 bolt. On a level 10 bolt its a bit less. When you move to a stiffer bolt spring you need to increase the chamber pressure (velocity setting) just to get back up to the original velocity setting. So, the 1 -1/2 turn may increase your chamber pressure, but until you fire a ball across a chronograph, you won't know what the velocity is set at.
