Well i have it set up to stop on any paint, and it has the max number of shims that it can have without leaking, and has a bit longer spring on it. However, when i'm testing it on paint, if i don't always have it in enough it chops the top of the ball off (not in half) and when it's in the breech but a bit is still sticking out i find paint in my breech, meaning it shot it but still broke it. I'm wondering if this has to do with the rougher edges of the classic body i have or what, i mean i've seen some paint in my breech but it's never chopped, so i'm just wondering what could be causing this, but it does have a pretty sharp edge on the body, so i wonder if that could be it.

What's the velocity? If it's high, turn it down. If it's what it should be at, try a longer spring.
You could always take a dremel and get rid of any sharp edges. -
well it doesn't seem to be a huge issue when i'm playing, like i never noticed anything like that, except this saturday. I dunno, i guess i'll just have to clean my gun for the third or so time today and keep it clean and hope it doesn't happen again.Originally posted by questionfulWhat's the velocity? What is the lowest velocity setting that your gun will fire? Your actual operating velocity should be about 20 fps above that value for optimum performance. If your starting velocity is 260fps then you are fine. If the starting velocity is 250fps or lower, you will need a stiffer spring installed to get good anti-chop ability. If the starting velocity is 270fps or higher, you will need a shorter spring to get reliable operation.
Shims don't help with anti-chop ability. They only shorten the distance that the bolt has to move before it can vent air in the event of the breach blockage.
If you are getting breakage in the breach even when the ball is properly in place, then your issue is with the ball. A barrel that has a bore that is too tight for the ball can cause this, especially if the ball is brittle.Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.Comment

I think it has to do with the spring, i'm going to try to find the red spring and use that, because it's when it's a little more than halfway in the breach, it gets hung up on the breach and breaks a bit, yet it still fires pretty much fine, so i'm going to try the longer spring and see if that helps.Originally posted by athomasWhat is the lowest velocity setting that your gun will fire?
