    Emag Valve venting constantly...

Alright, before anyone tells me to search, I've searched a ton and done a lot of work:

The valve is constantly blowing off air through the velocity adjuster hole and through the vent hole. First I turn the velocity all the way down (turning the clockwise). No change there, then I try replacing the "reg. valve pin assy" and it's still flippin leaking!! This is driving me nuts...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I was hoping to go play tomorrow morning...

Could it have something to do with the reg nut? or the reg nut oring? The oring isnt beautiful but it doesn't look damaged...

might need a new piston? check the piston oring and see if its still good..

Counter clockwise is how you lower the velocity, not clockwise.

            BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

            I mean...

            Thanks Rulermark

It's still got a slight leak to it, should I just replace it? I tightened it as far as it would go...

crap... I guess I should actually look at a clock before I talk in the future... lol

              thanks Lidocaine!

I have the same problem to some degree, My emag valve leaks a little from the velocity adjustor, and constant, but if I fire it it stops for about three seconds and starts to leaks again. I have changed the o rings on the valve pin and inspected the one on the piston, and it seems okay. I lubed it all back up, and re assembled it, but I still have a small leak after a buildup.

i have fixed this problem before, but I cannot remember the troubleshooting procedure.

The bad regulator seat oring can cause a build up of pressure that can cause venting.

Constant venting is either a bad or dirty oring in the valve or a bad/dirty oring on the regulator piston assembly. If the gun doesn't fire hot, then it is most likely the regulator piston assembly. I would first clean out the valve back. This is done by removing the velocity adjuster nut and removing the regulator piston assembly. Clean the cavity and the piston assembly as well as the spring pack. Put some clean grease on the spring pack. Inspect the piston assembly oring and replace if necessary. This oring doesn't use grease but a light application of automag lubricant will make it move smoothly and keep it from gathering dirt.

A weak regulator piston assembly will have leaking issues, but they will be more subdued and will increase as you increase the velocity and decrease as you decrease the velocity. As you get the chamber pressure down below the weakened safety release pressure setting, the venting will stop all together. If this happens, you need to replace the regulator piston assembly with one of the new higher pressure versions that were developed for the higher operating pressures of the level 10 bolt.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Clean the back end. That includes the piston, its o-ring, the regulator o-ring, and the casing itself. grease the springs and lightly oil the parts before reassembly

Thanks guys I had just finsihed cleaning everything in the piston assembly and hadnt tested it yet- After I posted, it seems that, that worked.

If the marker has a ReTro valve and Level 10 in it, chances are that's your problem. The Level 10 bolt requires higher operating pressures than the Level 7 bolt. This can cause the blowoff valve in the regulator piston to vent at normal velocities. New regulator pistons are calibrated to a higher pressure for the Level 10. In this case, you should purchase a new brass piston.
