    Adjusting the sear rod length

Is it ok to shorten the length of the sear rod? I have a pre travel set screw in my trigger, and while that works, there is still a lot of post travel. I was wondering if I could shorten it so the activation point is closer to the back of the grip frame. Once that was taken care of I could really crank out that pre travel screw and get the trigger itself close to the starting position of the rod. Post travel would be eliminated because it'd hit the back of the frame first.

Of course I'd still leave enough rearward travel to avoid half stroking it. Thoughts?
Please just don't just say it's a bad idea. If it is, could you explain to me why it's a bad idea?

    RT or ULT On/off?

    This can cause short stroking.

Either. ULT mainly at the moment.

Would short stroking be a problem if I made sure there was enough travel to ensure a complete cycle? It seems like theres some unneeded slack I can take out of it.

its not really a bad idea, but you could also just add a post travel set screw to accomplish the same thing.

If you want shorten it to the point you get short stroking and lengthin it till you no longer do...it will work ok, but then your trigger will be real close the the grip frame. IDK about anyone else, but I like my trigger away from the frame, so post travel set screw was my choice.

If you do adjust the length, count the rotations you screw it in....that way if you dont like it you can put it right back to stock with no problems.
