    flatline burst disk question

I removed my burst disk on my flatline 4500 reg because it was leaking from the threads so I thought I would use alittle teflon.. anyway when I removed the burst disk i noticed it is in 3 pieces.. a washer, a disk and the threaded part... the washer doesnt stay on the threaded part... the disk is not blown.. is this normal or do I need to buy a new disk? (if I do will any 7k burst disk work ? anyone know?

    thnx

Let me start by saying if you are unsure take it to an Airsmith...

Now that that is out of the way unless there is a hole or a rupture spot in the burst disk you should be fine. I do not know what the thread is for a burst disk plug. I do know that it is NOT 1/8 NPT, like fill nipple or gauge ports.

without pics i can't really visualize what you mean, but if it's what i'm thinking then it it normal. there should be the main piece that essentially acts as a perpendicular dump port if the disk blows, the disk itself, and a really small o-ring/washer of some sort. i have seen them without the ring/washer though.

i can't imagine why it would just start leaking out of the blue. to be on the safe side you might want to just drop $5 for an entirely new one. you might find a decent deal on eBay if you just search for "paintball" and "burst disk." any one of those rated for 7k would do. you would probably be able to get one cheaper off someone here at AO that will do the actual cost of shipping rather than a few dollars for the part + that amount again to ship it. (my gripe for small eBay items)
