    Weird Tac-One issues

Ok, so I just install my new Warp left body. Test it out the day before the game and everything works great.

I get to the field, my Tac goes haywire. It starts to leak a bit out the barrel and will either make the sound that it makes when its short stroked on the first shot or chop the first ball. Ive never had any issues before, ive always kept my Tac-One oiled and treated nicely, its my baby lol. I was highly upset cause I normally only bring my Tac..never expected it to break down on me. As luck would have it my backup marker broke down as well
The Tac wasnt unusable, I adjusted the velocity down a bit and was able to use it. The first shot would roll out the barrel, but the rest would shoot fine until I stopped shooting for about 10 seconds. I couldnt shoot exteremly fast without chopping at least 1 ball.

Anyway, I was talking to one of the guys at the field that knows a bit about mags and he said the problem is likely in my level 10, and that i need to put a bigger carrier in. I would have tried it at the field but I didnt have my Tac-One parts with me..Ill never leave home without them again lol.

Any thoughts as to what this problem could be if its not the carrier? I looked at the AGD disc that comes with the marker and from what it says, the carrier seems to be the problem..that or 2 many/to little shims in the ULT.

Well if you got a chop, it sounds like your LVL 10 is not adjusted properly.

Add oil and using the same carrier o-ring, find the largest carrier that doesn't leak, not the shortest that allows the marker to fire.

Also it sounds like you were using too short of a bolt spring for the velocity you wanted to shoot at. Shorter springs are for lower velocities, longer for higher.

That might be your only issues.

Oh, you are using a warp body, check your detents to make sure you aren't double feeding in case you have over-wound a Qloader, and don't over-tighten your frame screws.

I got to tinker with it for about 20 minutes and installed a carrier 2 sizes up from the original one. It leaked, so Im assuming if i switch down 1 carrier that should solve my problems. Second question is..how many shims should I have in my lvl 10?

The spring i was using was the gold one. Should I be using the Red one?

Im using a warp feed, not a qloader. Would that make a difference?

Take out the shims when setting up the level 10. They can give you a false leak if you have too many installed. A shim leak can look like a carrier leak if the shims cause the vent hole to be directly under the carrier oring. By using a tighter carrier it stops the leak, but you could have inconsistent operation.

You should probably be using the red spring. It seems to be the one most people have the best success with. you can check which one is the proper one for your setup. Turn the velocity down so that the gun won't fire. Then, gradually turn the velocity up while pulling and releasing the trigger until the gun fires. Check this velocity. If it is about 260 - 270 fps, you are good to go with the spring installed. Adjust the velocity up to 280 - 290 and you will have consistent operation. If the starting velocity is below 260 fps, try the next stiffer spring. If the starting velocity is above 275, use a lighter spring. The rule of thumb is to operate the mag at about 20fps above the lowest velocity that it will shoot at. This will give you the most consistent operation while providing excellent antichop capability.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

when u added the warp left body... did u use the warp left rail? The rail needs to be notched to fit the warp left...

            Thanks for the tips guys.

Im using the stock rail, but I milled it myself with guidance from Tunaman.

I think I got the problem fixed. Wont know 100% until this weekend.
