Do you have to have a MM valve assembly for a minimag? Or are you able to get a classic's valve and would the minimag work fine with that?

VALVES!

You can use a classic valve, a power feed valve, or a Minimag valve in any Automag, Minimag or Micromag. The ReTro valve will work any of them also.

Differences

They are all the same internally! The serial numbers all start with 2 letters. MM for Minimag, CF for the classic feed and PF for the power feed. They also have different amounts of service stars on them (older mags had no stars!)
Minimags have 4 stars, Classic feeds have 1 star, and I believe the power feed mags have either 2 or 3 stars. Each time the gun goes in for repairs you use a star for a free service! They will then drill a small divet in on of the stars to show that it has been used. If I'm not mistaken there may be a warranty time limit on the stars. You would have to look a little farther to know for sure, or maybe another member knows!
