    Question about cp regs

This reg came on my a4 fly I recently traded for. Can you put a standard elbow on this reg or do you have to use the vertical macro line connector that is at the bottom right now? Is the darn thing removable?

I don't know if that fitting is removable or not. Look down inside the fitting and see if there's a spot for an Allen key to fit in. I've seen some fittings in a reg like that before.

I know the short CP regs can use regualr fittings.

Yes they are removable. Just take off the bottom of the reg and from the inside you can unscrew that one out with I think a 3/16" allen wrench. Not sure of the exact size.

Then just screw a 90* one in from the outside and you should be GTG!!!

unfortunately i am sad to inform you that it IS removable yet it is NOT replaceable

I ahve tried the exact same thing and the only problem is that the threading is so deep into the body that with an elbow it doesn't reach... the only fittings that actually "fit" are the straight ones

but if you wanted to remove it just stick an allen key into the fitting like you would macro and turn to unscrew... if you look you should be able to see the hex design inside of almost every straight fitting (that i know of)

Really??? hmmmm I know I've taken mine out before and I thought for sure that the 90 would fit... though it's been awhile and can't say for certain, but I thought I put one in it...

Oh well.... sounds like your memory/knowledge is better than mine so I'll go with your story.... *need to upgrade my memory chips*

I had the same problem with the RPG gas-thru. Haveblue at air soldier found a long fixed 90 that would work, but it looks like it may hang down a little bit extra. My setup is so close together between the ASA and the grip that I haven't tried it with a fixed fitting yet. You need some flex so that the macro line fittings can pull tight.

ya i can garauntee that the long style cp regs will only work with straight fittings (unless you get one with longer threading that isnt found in most stores) but with the short cp regs you can use any fittings you want... the longer ones cant because in order for them to be "long" they recess the threads into the bottom of the reg just far enough that only straight fittings will work. On the shorter style regs the threading is flush with the bottom of the reg.

Well is there macro line that is more flexible so I can make the turn to my asa? The stuff I have now seems like it would break if I tried to make anything over a slight bend.

yup there def is... hit up macrolineguy.com he has the best macro ever

                        great flex and great strength

however... in my opinion, if the macro cant bend enough to reach the other fitting without breaking then its probably too brittle and i wouldnt want to use it anyways because it wouldnt be able to expand at all... But yes, check out macrolineguy
