    Question about Valve

I was playing with my mag this weekend and something happened. I went to chrono the marker and after I screwed in the tank Air came shooting out of the back of the valve. I talked to another automag owner their and he said that my velocity was way WAY to hight. So I turned it down and had no problems with it.

Well today I was cleaning my stuff and decided to blow a few round through the gun when I notice that the air (CO2) was leaking out the back of the valve. Basically what happens is either there is not enough pressure in the gun to activate the sear or there is a leak of co2 out the back any ideas what needs to be done?

(my valve is a lvl 7 68 valve)

if you got liquid co2 in your valve, you need to replace some orings.

try changing the oring on the piston if it still leaks out the back you'll probably need a new piston

Ok I took the valve apart and checked all the o-rings. They all appear fine. I gassed it up with some compressed air and the leak is still there but when I put my thumb to it there is no pressure build up like before. Maybe this is normal?

If the leak is due to liquid CO2 in the gun, it will go away if you point the gun so that the CO2 tank is held vertically and fire several shots.

When you say the gun leaks down the barrel, does it stop if you pull and hold the trigger?
          My feedback

Made in USA - it matters.

This would be normal only if you had the velocity turned up too high or the oring on the piston assembly is bad or the piston assembly is bad. The piston is a high pressure relief valve that prevents unsafe operation of your mag I included a picture for your reference and a url to the airgun designs webstore

OK since liquid in the value is generally a bad idea how do y'all suggest I make the marker run on a 12-gram?

(kinds like these picture http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...o/DSC04326.jpg or this http://www.putfile.com/pic/8472011).

I'd suggest you get compressed air instead of trying to use a 12gram. You'll spend way too much money and get very few shots without some heavy modifications on a 12gram system.

You can get a 47ci/3000psi steel tank for about 45 bucks if you look around. That can generally get you around 400 to 600 shots with a classic mag.

The piston oring can be worn down or hardened and still look ok; it just won't seal.

Depending on its age and your setup, like Coralis said, I would put an new oring on the piston and clean out the inside of the reg with alcohol before re-lubing it.

People get away with some amazingly short 12 gram mounts, so you can make it work with them, but like smoke said, the shot efficiency will be somewhere around 15 per 12 gram, depending on your setup.

                  Got pics?

No pics right know. If I get 15 shots from the thing that is all I really need. I'm basically trying to make a backup for scenarios. A semi pistol is a nice backup for all the pump/stock class markers I use.

Pistols are very fun to play with, but for backup I prefer another pod of paint.
