    chuffing lvl 10 ult

I ordered some parts from AGD great service by the way, to get my ULT up and running, I started off with 6 and noticed no automatic and then went down to 5, however I am currently experiencing so much chuffing. This didn't happen when I used the R/T on/off Any suggestions?

Well to be honest you didn't tune the ult to the best ability and this will have an effect on it...

Go back up to 6 shims and keep adding some until you experience run away and then remove 1 more shim until u do not...

This will provide the lightest pull and hopefuly the least chuffing at all

Report back and let us know how it goes.

      1. you're carrier o ring could be too tight.
      2. you should oil your gun.
      3. check your ball detents are working properly. and if using Kila's, make sure the magnets aren't applying too much pressure.

Hate to sound silly, but are you using an RT valve or a classic valve?

From my own personal experience, I found myself short-stroking with the ULT way too much.
I've added shims, removed shims, the whole thing...

Based on what I've read, it could partly be due to my input pressure being just a tad low. I'm running at about 800psi where most people have good results w/ the ULT around 900.
Although the valve will run fine @ 800psi, I'm just not getting enough trigger return force to keep myself from short stroking the trigger.

I'm also aware that short stroking really is due to the fact that I'm pulling the trigger wrong
In the end, I stuck to the RT on/off and am much happier that way.

A tight carrier or a bolt spring that is too stiff for the velocity you are shooting could contribute to your short stroking. Both of the mentioned items will slow the bolt cycle time and increase the chances of short stroking. The ULT exaggerates this again by providing less reset force which slows down the resetting of the on-off pin. Adding shims in the ULT opens the on-off sooner and reduces this time. Each area of the mag that takes more time to complete its task, reduces the amount of time available to recharge the chamber between shots. Reduced recharge time equals greater chances of short stroking.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

I thought he had been working with a classic lately. Of course, he may have more than one mag.

              *edit*

Ah, I see he bought an x-valve from punkncat.
