    LVL 10 bolt sometimes "halfstrokes"

Ok...so...I'm extremely new to the mags.

I bought a classic mag. I wanted to upgrade it. So, I purchased an ego frame to make it a hybrid. I also purchased a lvl 10 bolt with ult and RT Pro valve.

Ok...so...I decide to mount everything at once.

    Here is the problem.....

Sometimes during the shooting, the bolt will only go halfway forward. It makes a different *pop* noise...almost a *pffsssttt* noise and the bolt only seems to go halfway forward.

I'm assuming that the problem is somewhere in tuning the lvl 10 bolt and ult as opposed to the ego frame. Every trigger pull the ego frame solenoid fully actuates the sheer.

What is causing this. How can I correct this? As stated above...I'm very new to the mag world.

    Thanks in advance,
    G

Don't worry, this is easy to fix. You just need to tune your Level ten.

Read that to understand how it works, then you'll be able to tune it much more easily. But it sounds like you just need to go up a carrier size. You should be using the largest carrier that doesn't leak. So keep swapping for the next largest carrier until it leaks, then go back to the previous one.

Sounds like your Level 10 is doing what it is supposed to do. When it pinches a ball, the air behind the bolt releases, giving you that psssh sound. You didn't mention what type of hopper you were using, if you are using a revvy or gravity fed hopper, upgrade to a halo or Vlocity. Sounds like your gun might be firing faster than what the hopper can keep up with.

No hopper was used...this is just shooting air. The bolt should be keeping up with what my fingers are shooting.

When a level 10 bolt "LVL 10's" without paint, either you didn't put 2 drops of oil in the ASA when you first gassed up, you are using too tight of a carrier, or you are using too strong of a bolt spring for the velocity your RVA is set at.

You want the largest carrier that doesn't leak, not the smallest that allows you to fire. After you have that figured out, find the bolt spring for the velocity you want to shoot at.

Awesome gentlemen. I'm going to try all of the above mentioned this afternoon. Been too busy to play with my toys as of late.

              Thanks for all the replies.

Also make sure you're testing with a full or nearly full HPA tank and the output psi is around 800.

Once the tank gets under 1K psi you can start getting chuffing, like you described, leaks down the barrel and all sorts of weird problems that aren't really problems if the tank was full.
