    E/X-mag noid travel

I guess this question is geared towards tom/AGD or any of its certified techs...

What is the official/desired travel length of the E/X-mag solenoid to have it operate correctly.

    Thank you ahead of time.

Chris, I'm not a AGD tech, but since it's a magnetic solonoide it will travel until the 2 attractions have mated. My guess for full/desired travel would be to the C-clip that acts as a stopper before it bottoms out....

that might be a way to look at it. but i would like to get exact measurement for the proper required travel needed to have the sear work correctly.

just to be on the safe side.

and btw....out of the 7 emag lowers i have measured for this info.....they are each different as weird as that is.

          hmm

actually, iam not needing the length of the sear setup. i need the length of proper travel for the that part of the sear.

The length of the plunger + rod determines the travel. The C-clip is one stop, and the hump on the sear that rests on the underside of the body is the other. As far as the measurements go by paul niedfeld, in practice they differ alot. I have measured the rod lengths of 2 sears, and both were pretty much different lengths.
