    safety pushed too far

I pushed the safety a little too far today. Now it's stuck in safety.

I know it's a spring bearing that keeps the safety switch. I fiddled with it atleast a half hour and still can't get it out.

Anyone has a suggestion that won't cause any damage? It would be appreciated.

On hte top of the frame there should be a tiny grub screw. If you unscrew that, the spring and ball should come out, allowing you to remove the safety.

It's only a hole, the ball and spring are under the safety pin.

Oh. Hm. Well I don't know how else you're going to reach the ball to push it down. Good luck!

I ended up removing my safety from hyperframe and replacing it with a 1/4" dowel. insert is safe and remove is fire .

It's the removal of the pin that bothers me. If i decide to remove it with force, i might wedge the bearing between the frame and pin. I do have a 1/4" dowel at home if i decide to replace the pin later.

the ball & spring on my Hyper set on top of the saftey , the rail holds it all in ,
if you have a piece of "shim" material mabey you could slide it around in between the frame & the pin , in the pics it looks like the pin is almost out like the ball & spring are up into the slot where the sear stop / slot is , if thats where it is at I don't think you will be able to get it out without destroying the spring at the least , but the springs & balls are easy to get ; take a 1/8" grease fitting & cut the dead end off & there is a sprin & ball that fits perfect

                  thanks

During the night, i thought of crazy glue. If i put a dab and turn the safety, i "could" push the pin back.

We will see how that goes.

Ok fellas, the operation is done, and it was a success!!

Took a 1/4 dowel as a punch and gentle hammer taps (and a few good ones). I hate hammers, when i was a machinist, you would get yelled at for even having a steel hammer in your toolbox, let alone taking it out and don't even think of using it.

So my baby is alive and well. The spring and ball are on top of the safety from now on Also added a pin of about 1/8 in length on top of the spring. The pin adds pressure on the safety, it is now also impossible to push the safety out.

                    Thanks guys for your input
