    major bolt stick problem?

    Hi everyone

Recently i had a bolt stick where i can fire about 10 shot, then the bolt stick and refuse to fire any more.

So i took out and disassemble the level 10

    change the carrier

    Put everything back in.

Now i can't even get it to fire.

The on/off does active the trigger so i can feel pressure on the trigger, but i can't get the bolt to fire.

When i push on the trigger it doesn't do anything

    What should i do?

    Thanks

How much pressure was in your tank?

Does the carrier slide easily but snugly on the bolt stem?

    Try adding shims.

      currently i have 2 shim

and i have 1000 psi left in the tank

Is it too low? I try switching to the red spring, but now if i press the trigger it seem like the on/off leak?

Add shims until it shim-leaks, then take one away.

1000psi is enough. Maybe it's your velocity. Have you done anything to your velocity nut since you last chrono'd your gun? Disassemble the valve or anything?

If you have an on/off leak, clean and lube the O-rings on top of the on/off.

Now i only have 500 psi left so i don't think that enough for anything, i'll fill up the tank tomorrow and give it another try.

          Thanks

Bolt stick is usually caused by too tight of a carrier.
Use the largest carrier that doesn't leak.
            Use oil.
Only use shims if the bolt won't reset after encountering a jam (test with squeegy).
Don't over-tighten the field strip screw.

The tank pressure may not be reading properly. Those gauges are notoriously bad for that at low pressures. Don't worry about shims. They do not affect the firing of the gun at all. As secretweaponevan mentioned, shims only help the bolt reset after a jam.

Generally, if a mag won't fire either the bolt spring is too stiff for the velocity setting, or your carrier is too tight and is holding the bolt in place. Try the short gold spring first. Always use the largest carrier that doesn't leak. Don't use any shims when testing because you don't want to be confused by a shim induced leak.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
