    adjustable pressure/velocity?

this may be a stupid question.. but with an adjustable output high pressure tank does higher pressure always mean higher velocity?

    NO.

The higher pressure may affect the response of the trigger depending on your setup but it won't affect the velocity. That is controlled by the regulator on the back end of the valve.

DevilMan's right. The tank regulator will affect how fast/hard air rushes into the dump chamber, thus affecting the response of the trigger. The marker regulator (back half of your valve) controls the maximum pressure of the dump chamber, thus controlling the velocity of your marker.

Higher tank regulator pressure = more trigger response.
Higher valve regulator pressure = more velocity.

This assumes an RT valve (R/T classic, ReTro, EMag, XMag, RTPro, X-Valve, et cetera). Tank reg pressure will have little or no effect on a classic AM/MM/AIR valve, aside from the fact that your marker won't shoot/recharge well if your pressure is too low.
