i am guessing you are hooking up regulator to female line for get the adapter just get a 1/4" nipple and screw it in

this is what you are looking for

these are aluminum but have the nut in the middle to allow use of a wrench to tighten

heres the link to that site

just do a google product search for Standard 1/4" Nipple

if your confused heres a link:

That's exactly wat I was looking for actually... I couldn't find any when I searched for male to male adapters

But as soon as I typed in nipple it showed up... any ideas if I can find one of these at a hardware store so im not spending 20 bucks shipped just for 1

Yes you can buy them at True Value, ACE, OSH, Home Depot, Lowes, etc...

The only thing is they are brass and not AL and the ones I've found don't have a nut in the middle of them. It's not an issue to me as you can unscrew at least one side of whatever you put on it and the fitting will stay in the other. If you have a preference on which is which then I'd loctite it maybe. Otherwise to take it off you almost bugger it up as you scratch the hell out of it with pliers.

You may be able to find a couple of thin nuts to thread on it to lock together and use that way, but I never took the time.

They can be found in the plumbing section.
