    valve compatibility

hey all, i was considering putting an x valve in my classic mag but dont have the money so ive been looking at some less expensive retro valves... will the retro or rt pro valve work/fit in my classic mag? also..are there any differences in the two valves other than weight? and even if the rt valve is heavier can you not reach the same rate of fire with a lvl x? please feel free to share any knowledge you may have on this subject with me.

Yes, you can install a ReTro Pro (RT-Pro) valve in a classic body.

The only difference, to the best of my knowledge, between RT Pros and X-Valves are the metal they are made from. Stainless for the RT-Pro or aluminium for the X-valve. They have the same rate of fire in my opinion.

You DO NOT want a Automag RT valve. They are the only non-compatable valve and they alone exsist in thier own category. AGD tried to do away with the external hoses/macro line that linked foregrip/ASA to the rear of the marker. Instead RT's have a gas line internal to its rail and use a hollow "banjo" bolt/screw to link the rail and valve.

After that, they went back to the old style hoses and offered the improved RT (reactive trigger) and faster charge time RT-PRO valve. Same internals as the RT, but with old style hoses.

Then came the X-valve. Again, same internals as the RT or RT Pro, but this time constructed out of lighter weight aluminium. But still with the classic hose connections.

Just to clarify, the Retro and RT Pro valves are 1/2 aluminum and 1/2 stainless steel. Also the Retros and RT Pros need to be modified in order to accept ULT (please correct me if I am wrong).

I was under the impression that the older RT valve is the only version that needs modification to be able to use the ULT.

If the valve you have has 2 orings for the on-off top, you can use a Ultra Light Trigger/ULT.
