Choppin paint got me out of paintball

Wow, Im sure ya'll hear stuff like this often
"i was diggin through my stuff and found..."
Well, i pulled out my old Mag, and started playin around, and remembering.

I bought this "eclipse" mag from smart parts in 2003, and had a blast. I had a "trigger job" done on it, by a guy in fort worth, texas at "hit and run" paintball park. He claimed he was an AGD tech, and my gun in his hands would FLY, in my hands, i would chop paint like crazy. after 4,000 rnds, and countless chops, and joining the military, i was just done. Now i have alot of free time on my hands, and was wondering if there was something i could do.
Money is not really a factor, i just wanna use my old gun. Whats new with bolts, and trigger frames? I read alot of level 10 stuff...
I was using gas, and a 12v revi

FYI, my mag looks just like this, except its blue splash, and a black body.
Its got a 12'' "all american" maching paint barrel, and a little 6'' smart parts venturi barrel, which i think isnt made anymore. And its got that ridiculously long Smart Parts expansion chamber

    Mags don't chop. You're a liar.

How much would you want for that gun? It's awesome - IMO.

Get a level 10 bolt for it and that will take care of the chopping problem. Also, if you want to mess around with the trigger more, get an intelliframe and do a pnuemag conversion. So much fun...

pneu - I dont think i want to sell, I paid way to much from smart parts back in 2003, $700. After a little reading, i learned these mags go for $100-$200 with the splash kits.
This guy has a nice one im sure you could get a good deal on

Check this video. At 0:30 you can see a lvl10 in action.

            Keep it old school.

Drop in a LX bolt, tune it up (easy to do), and forget about chops. You might want to get another sear too, as most "trigger jobs" on Mags result in accelerated wear on the sear.

Since you are already running gas, double check all your O-rings, oil it up good, and go play.

BTW, nobody here will make fun of your foolish, ignorant, totally obscene choice of a Smart Parts marker......

We call that "going professional", because of all of the pictures of the pro players with pod's worth of paint on their barrel.

IDK about the vintage of your splash kit, but there was an issue with the shape of the stock power feed plug that contributed to chopping that you might search out on the tech forum. I had one of the older plugs, but at the same time I bought a new plug I upgraded to an x-valve and a reloader. No comparison with that setup.

A force feed loader will cure a lot of feed problems, and if you do any other upgrades it might keep up with them.

full pull and full release of the trigger helps with chops its called shortstroking when you fire fast enough where you could crunch a ball

That was exactly my problem. I had never played enough to fully develop my "stroke"

So i guess im simply lookin for a solution to correct my short stroking. What can i do to have a short stroke not chop a ball?

                    Army mentions an LX bolt,
Maninblack reccomends a lvl 10 bolt, whats the difference?

LX bolt is shorter (to type  )

They are the same thing, a "Level 10 bolt kit".

I was talking to an old autococker guy that played tournaments with mechs. He said if you don't have callouses on the backs of your trigger fingers, you're not doing it right.
