    My question:
I own a Classic Automag and want to update it. what would you recommend? im thinking about an retro valve or an electric. grip. what will be faster ?
can i play the retro with a preset tank (crossfire?)

shall i buy a new bolt with a foamie?
or what else should i buy?
the gun is out of the box nothing modified.

    hey acid,

i dont know if you have a revvy or not...if you dont, it is essential...

next upgrade is a good barrel...search around and you will find opinions from everyone...i prefer the J&J ceramic...they are about $45 and shoot themselves clean after about 3-4 shots...this way you dont have to squeegie...if you can afford it, and once you get a little more serious, consider a freak system...its a 2 piece barrel, with different sized inserts to give you the PERFECT paint to barrel match that will give you the best gas efficiency, and most importantly, the best accuracy...

you also didnt say if you had a powerfeed or not...powerfeeds are good

alright, with the two ESSENTIAL mods out of the way, lets talk about the real good stuff...

    1. retro valve - YES... you will LOVE it, except it does require HPA...you CAN use a preset tank (they are cheaper), but an adjustable tank will allow you to "tune" the reactivity of your trigger...if you want a stiffer trigger, increase the input pressure...

    2. warp feed - lots of people here like em...so do i...it takes the hopper off the top of your gun, allows you to shoot sideways, if you want, and generally helps with most feeding issues...if you get a powerfeed, hopper right is the easiest way to hook up a warp feed...although, hopper left works alright also...

i think thats about it for the cool-stuff...

you may want to consider a double trigger frame, if you want, or a z-grip...but that is mostly personal preference

    hope this helps

      Upgrades I reccomend:

      1) Revvy if you don't already have one. Thats just a must... 12V if you can, its just a better investment in the long run.

      2) Intelliframe. It just kicks, I can't say enough how good this trigger frame is.

      3) Warp Feed. Say goodbye to hopper hits, and say hello to shooting sideways and upside down.

      4) Foamie Bolt. It takes a HUGE dent out of ball breakage, in my experience. I love mine.

      5) HPA. If you don't have it already, find a cheap used Crossfire or Pure Energy system somewhere. Makes a pretty big difference. If you are stuck with CO2, invest in an expansion chamber and anti-siphon tube.

      6) Barrel. I personally love the stock AGD barrels, which is why I put barrel all the way down here. I use my old school crown point barrel all the time. If you are going to get a really good barrel system, though, skip over the freak and look at the CP Pro Barrel Set, or the JJ barrel set. They are both superior, in my opinion.

As for the retro valve, I'm one of the minority who says its less important than a lot of other additions. Not that it isn't a great upgrade, but I think a lot of other upgrades will improve your game more. A retro will help you squeak out a couple extra BPS, which is important at high-level play where every little advantage counts, but at a newbie level, the other upgrades will do a lot more for your game, in my opinion.

I'd go Retro over an Electronic frame.
        1) its more than fast enough
        2) its more reliable
        3) it doesn't need batteries
        4) a lot of people won't notice it until its too late

Warning: you can't use CO2 with it though, gotta be HPA
