Several questions about upgrading a Mag

I have had my Mag for over 10 years now but just starting playing again after about 7 years. I have a Classic with a power feed body and crown point barrel. Some upgrades I already have with it are a VL2000 18volt Shredder, AirAmerica Unireg, and a Taso remote w/ Expansion Chamber.

In the next few months I plan to get the following upgrades:

    X-Valve w/ Level 10 bolt kit
    ULE Vertical Feed Mainbody
    ULE Trigger Pull Kit
    16" All American barrel

Some questions I have about the upgrades are:

The X-Valve says it has Reactive Trigger technology. I wasn't sure what this was so I researched and found that it was a feature on RT's that pushes the trigger forward after firing. Will the X-valve give my Mag that same effect? Also, if the first question is correct, then if I hold the trigger firmly down with my finger, will I get a rapid firing effect since the trigger will want to push itself forward and my finger will pulling backwards? That is how I am understanding that to work.

Will I benefit from The AirAmerica Unireg with the X-Valve? more detailing, I would always keep the built-in regulater on the stock Mag valve open and adjust the Unireg. How would I want to use the X-Valve's regulator?

I do understand that I will have to upgrade to compressed air or nitrogen. I have no experience with either. Are they both comsidered "HPA"? What are the differences between compressed air and nitrogen?

Those are all the questions I have for the time being. If another one comes up, I will add another post. I am sorry if some of my questions are common knowledge as of today, but please remember I have been completely out of the sport for 7 years.

If you have any other suggestions for me, please let me know

I thank you for your time and answers

I don't own an RT or X-valve, but I'll jump in with what I know. The X-valve and the RT valve are exactly the same, except that the X-valve is all aluminum and is lighter. They will both give you the RT effect. If you pull the trigger all the way and hold it down, it will fire once. Pulling the trigger closes the on/off and releases the bolt, if you do not release the trigger, the on/off stays closed and there is no air entering the front chamber of the valve to recharge it. With the RT effect you can get pretty much full auto speeds if you are skilled on the trigger. It will push your finger out with more force than what it takes to pull the trigger, so when you get into the "sweet spot", you can have some killer rates of fire. There are a few videos on youtube of people shooting their RTs, and they look pretty close to full auto.

I really don't think you would need the AA reg. Since you will be using HPA, the regulator on the tank will keep the output consistent, and the Automag Valve (be it X, RT, or even classic) does an amazing job at regulating pressure. Many say (and I agree) that Mag valves do a better job than any high pressure regulator out there. In my opinion, there is no need for a second regulator, and your gun will probably work better without one.

As far as HPA is concerned, there is a difference between nitrogen and compressed air. Nitrogen is compressed nitrogen, and from what I understand it is a bit more consistent. Compressed air is just that, compressed air. However, you will not find nitrogen around too much anymore, if at all. Pretty much all fields use compressed air, it is easy to get and is still very consistent. It's the same thing you fill scuba tanks up with for diving. It is much easier to deal with and much more common. You can use the same HPA tank with nitrogen and compressed air, but again, you will most likely only find the air.

Another note about your wishlist. Again, I don't own an X-valve, but from what I understand, putting in a ULT (Ultra Light Trigger pull kit) will negate the RT effect in the valve. It will give you an amazingly light pull, but you will not be able to get the pushing effect with the trigger.

Good luck with everything. Hope I got some of those questions answered. It's nice coming back to the sport, isn't it? I came back after about 6 years. Pulled out my mag that hadn't been touched in that long, dropped in some oil, and boom, ready to play. I love my mag and always will.
