Is there a difference in the valves that say A.I.R. and the ones that just say Classic 68? Curious. I have one of both.

Cool thanks.Originally posted by kevdupuisA.I.R. valve was the early name, 68 Classic is just the later name of the valve.
Is there a way to tell what bolt you have? I'm wondering if it's level 5, 6 or 7.
Also, what valve do you have to have to use the lvl 10 bolts?

First off lvl10 can be used on all valves.
Level 5 valves have a spiral clip that holds the power tube to the the front of the valve body, level 7 valves are welded together in this area, there really is no level 6 valve.
AGD used to weld level 5 valves when they were sent in for service to upgrade them to level 7 status, of course some level 5 valves escaped this process.
edit: didn't think of the rental valvesFlying the unfriendly skies.

Any valve that is not a rental valve will accept the lvl 10, except perhaps the sydarm valve. Not sure on the sydarm valve.Originally posted by smoke63bCool thanks.

The other difference is that the first run AIR valves had random alignment of the hole between the reg and the valve body. This problem is where the "8-hole mod" came from. Both holes should be at the top of the valve and reg.
Later on, AGD began indexing the valves so that the passages line up on all the stainless valves. There's a TK post on it around here.

I saw the TK post in the promag stuffLast edited by Spider-TW; 09-07-2008, 08:45 PM.
