    Stripping Paint

Well, I just picked up a Minimag on the ebay, and its painted. Poorly. Any visible surface has been painted, and needless to say, I want to strip the paint off, and want to know if there are any solvents that I can use that won't destroy the rubber in the valve/regulator by seeping into any holes or anything, or if seepage is even an issue. Any help is appreciated.

First, all o-rings on an Automag are user-serviceable and easily removable. Second, on a Minimag, it's stainless steel. Pretty much any paint he used won't have a very strong bond. You're probably best scrubbing it with a substance such as Bon Ami. Coarse enough to remove the paint but not enough to scratch the valve. On the gun body, if it was originally a painted body, you may be unable to remove the new paint without also destroying the old paint. If it was a raw body like the original 68 Automags and Minimags were, you can just buy some acetone from the hardware store and drop the whole darn thing in it for a while. Same goes for the rail.
