Mag problem. Need some info or help please.

I'm getting 2 old mags ready to go for an upcoming scenario game here and just ran into something weird with one of them.

Granted I WAS using co2 to test it so that could totally be the problem.

It was firing insanely hot. Balls whipping left and right and all that stuff. I started back out the velocity adjuster and then suddenly the trigger had no pressure and no air was getting past the valve I guess. If you back out the velocity adjuster too far does this occur? If I can't back it out any farther to lower the velocity, does that just mean that I'm going to have this issue with Co2 any time I use it?

I have carbon fiber HPA tank on the way and another being hydro'd so I won't be using Co2 to play. I was using leftovers in a tank just to test for leaks after I re-hosed the mags.

So does this sound like an issue?

I have 2 mag complete rebuild kits on the way as well and plan on replacing everything inside before the scenario.

Let me know if you have any clue as to what could cause this.

Do you have anyway to test it with the CO2 tank sitting vertical to keep the liquid from getting in the valve?

Reg spring pack? Assuming this is something in the valve?

It's weird how turning the velocity out eventually just shuts off the air basically. Turning it back in gradually and BAM there's air all of a sudden. Happens in about the same spot turning the velocity thing out and in every time.

Yes. Degas your marker. Be sure it is degassed. Unscrew the veloctiy adjuster until it comes out. Out will come the reg spring pack. Make sure it doesn't have any grit or foreign debris inside the springs.

The spring pack is there to put more pressure against the piston as you screw in the velocity adjuster. If the spring pack won't compress (ie. foreign debris) the velocity would go from "off" to "wicked hot" with a tiny turn of the velocity adjuster because the piston can't push back against the spring pack to shut off the gas supply internally.

          Clean your reg spring pack.
