    Barrel stuck, ideas?

Anyone have any idea of how to remove a barrel that's stuck in a gun probably due to the gun's nickel coating coming off in the thread?

As for how this happened, I just recieved a chromed micromag clone, n screwed a barrel in (only a stock one lying around luckily), n now upon trying to unscrew it, it wont budge. THe barrel is about 1/4th of the way out. Ive tried strap wrenching it while the body was held down by a vice, no use. (n id say im pretty beefy so i dun think strength is the issue here)

When screwing the barrel in, i did feel resistance, so i unscrewed n rescrewed while wiping n greasing threads in between.

Lastly, i'm pretty sure its not due to threads being crossed either, im pretty careful about such things.

    Is this a twist lock?

If so I have been able to get barrels out by taking the body off. It turned out that the twist lock pin was not seated all the way down into the rail.

    Good Luck!

micromag clone = ptp threads aka cocker threading... i would try to alternatly hot and cold on the differing parts and a good oil..... dry ice is your friend if you can get some from like arrow party and paper or the such ....... or heat the barrel with boiling water then vise and try to turn the body itself off

        Can't be, it's a micro.

If you used a vise and strapwrench in vein. I will say you're out of luck my friend. You can try to cool/heat it, but if a strap wrench didn't do the job... I can't think of an easy way to seperate them. I "assyoume" that the barrel is made of Al, if so, you will damage both the body and barrel since they are the same material. Even if you do force them appart, chances are they will be both wrecked.

Sorry if I can't be of any help.

You could saw off the barrel to about 2" from the end of the marker.

Saw a slit in the barrel right up to the breach then get a little file and try to continue the slit into the breach.

If you are really careful and go slow, you could get the barrel to eventually tear along the slit and hopefully come out.

Either that, or vise the barrel to flat and torque the crap out of the body whilst praying to your diety of choice.

Yeah, I re-read it for some reason I thought he was dealing with a Minimag but in the end he was able to get it off.

                So it's all good
