Question about E-mag valve and ULT

So, as I understand it, e-mag valves will accept the ULT, but it says that it is not recommended. Is this only if you are using it in electronic mode? If you use in mech mode, say, in a MicroMag, will the ULT function properly?

Going along with a similar question, if you put in a .750 on/off pin in an e-mag valve, do you essentially have an RT valve?

    Thanks.

It won't operate properly in electro mode. The reason is that the ULT will not have enough force to reset the solenoid. In mech mode it would work like any ULT'd Mag.

AFAIK, the E-Mag valve is an RT Pro valve with different laser engraving and a different length on/off pin. So the answer is yes.

      A few pointers.

Not all emag valves accept ULTs. Not all Retro/ RT Pro valves accept ULTs. There is a mixture out there.

An standard emag uses an RT on/off with .712 pin. A Micro Emag uses a RT on/off with a shorter pin. IIRC .690. I can measure mine if you need me to.

If your solenoid in your emag is going bad you can replace the rt on/off and use a ult. You will have to play with the shims to get it to work. You will not be able to get as high of a rof with a ult as it is hard for the ult to reset the emag sear.

An emag in mech mode is nothing more than an RTPro mag with a heavier sear.

I hope this clears things up.

Thanks for the answers. Really the reason I ask is because I want to pick up an RT type valve that doesn't need milling, and that doesn't cost $200.

Mann, you said some e-mag valves don't accept ULTs, is there a way to tell (other than looking at it, of course) if one will/won't? Serial #, color, etc?

        Thanks.

you have to look inside the valve where the on/off goes
if it has only a single oring on top, then it will need to be milled to fit the ULT
if it has 2 orings, 1 aroung the other, then the ULT will drop right in
