    Burst Disk Question

Yesterday while I was working on some stuff in my basement the 1.8K burst disk on my screw-in PE tank blew while it was just sitting there. I had used it about an hour earlier. It's a 68ci 3Kpsi tank that had about 2500psi in it at the time. Did the disk just go bad or is something wrong with my reg that too much pressure made it's way to that disk?

Ummmm, 1.8k burst disk, 2.5k PSI. I think you answered your question. Yeah, something is up with the reg and might need a rebuild (reg creep probably)

Ok, I just wanted to make sure before I bought another burst dish and blew it too. Thanks.

        depends on the reg , my 3k crossfire (850 output) only has 1 , it's a 5k disc
        my 4.5k crossfire's (850 output) (I have 2) have 2 disc's 1 is a 1.5k, the other is a 7.5k

For me, i would say it's just a burst disk that turned bad and i would just replace it and see if it happens again.

Had one blow out on a brand new Air America 48/3ka couple days ago. Had the tanks filled and then about 4 hours later the disk burst. Seen it happen a dozen times just randomly.
