Slow leak out of Regulator Piston (Level 10 Piston with Level 7 Mag?)

No matter what the speed, there is a slow leak out of the regulator piston. i've read up on the threads here, and they all suggest it may be a bad regulator piston, which can easily be replaced with a new one. However, from what I've seen, all new regulator pistons are tuned for Level 10, but all the valves and pistons I have are level 7 (I have 4 mags, one of which is vintage from 1992.) How will the Level 10 regulator work with the 3 Classic 68 Mags, and especially important, how will it work with the 68 Mag from 1992, especially considering this is the one that is leaking right now? Thanks everyone.

If you have a non rt valve, you can try to fix it yourself. Remove the reg piston, and turn the screw on the reg piston clockwise 1/4.

^ I don't agree as that is not his problem.

You'll be fine with a new piston. Your piston seems to have a leaky o-ring on it. Re-greasing it might help, but a new piston will be fine.

The "LVL 10" pistons just have a higher venting pressure since the LVL 10 needs a higher operating pressure. It will work fine with your level 7 bolt.

lower the pressure on the mag(dont worry if it wont fire). If you can back the velocity adjuster out to remove the leak then your reg piston needes to be replaced or "fixed"

If the leak continues look at orings.

The reg pistons are interchangeable throughout the years. IE my 92 am/mm takes the same one as my 02 am/mm.

Damn it, your right . If it leaks all the time and at whatever velocity, it should need a new oring or re-greased.

Be sure to use non petroleum grease as to not damage the oring.
