    Barrel Bore

Anyone know the bore of the stock crownpoint barrels?

I know it is huge, a lot bigger than my .689 bigshot. Is it like a .692 or something?

    Thanks

I put the same paintball through a bob long 689 barrel and then through my crown point. They looked the same.

Which crown point barrel, the new ones or the old ones? The old ones were about 0.692". I don't know about the newer ones.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Got mine off a RT Classic. It has the polished muzzle brake, not the cut out one.

I was guessing around .692 but eyeballing it to guess thousanths is... well, it doesn't work accurately.

Upon further inspection I want to say it is near .695 because the paintball can literally rattle down the barrel and the paintballs are like a .688. They are just loose in my bigshot, just a bit tight in my Trracer stock barrel (near .687 I assume) and they are just about perfect in my J&J ceramic (.688).

Like, the corona of light I can see around the paintball has like 3 contact points on the J&J, it is intermittant in the Trracer barrel, 2 contact points in the Bigshot, and only one contact point and the corona runs like 340* around the circle in the CP... Its huge!

I have to say my old crown point is about 0.692 on average.

The best measurement at the breech is 0.691.
One pair of crown points is 0.695 apart, the other is 0.688 apart.
The middle diameter is 0.993, and the best thickness I find is 0.150 (for a 0.693 bore)

I'm surprised at how varied the sizes are. With good paint, it shoots pretty well.

.993 Is that supposed to be .693?

So I guess I was pretty close with .692-.695.
Yeah, they shoot great but that is some big bore stuff.

Well, like Tom says, they don't specialize in the barrel, that's not their job.

That means that the marker itself is accurate and the barrel just channels that accuracy

Sorry, the middle outside diameter was 0.993. The wall thickness was 0.150, so the middle bore was about 0.693 (0.993-0.300).

At least now both crown point pairs are 0.691 apart. A vise is very handy adjustment tool. I don't remember banging it on anything, but it is definitely "old".

I use a 0.696 bore empire barrel for everything. It works great and it reduces barrel breaks with crappy paint.

It sounds like your big shot barrel is the best fit for the paint you are using as long as the paint is consistent in its size.

Yeah, I love my bigshot. It'll shoot through anything out here. Haven't found a paint that disagrees with it.
